FUNDRAISING

OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED!  GOAL: 5000 USD / 6125 CAD AND CURRENTLY AT 31%

To keep our Library up and running, we hold a fundraising campaign from September to December, the success of which determines whether we get to exist another year.

Donate to keep the Antique Pattern Library running!

If you can’t afford to donate, but would like to help the Antique Pattern Library, introducing the Library to people who don’t know of it yet, is very useful, since it broadens our user base and therefore also our future donor base. Blogs, Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest, Ravelry, Facebook, other social media – show others your favorite publications and what you made using them. Our work is only useful when people actually use it!

If that is not possible either, just enjoy our new publications either for inspiration or for your own work!

NEW PUBLICATION: MARIE WUNSCH – Lost in the forest

O-DN001 Marie Wunsch – Lost in the Forest (woven in silk)
A woven silk image after a painting by Marie Wunsch of Hans and Gretel, titled Lost In The Forest, in two sizes. Such woven images are also called Stevengraphs after the inventor. The scans and photos do not do them justice, as changing light also changes the image, making it much more lively to look at than the static digital image ever can show. Compare the two sizes to see how the pattern was adapted to each size. The reverse side of each is also shown. The first image is a fair-use thumbnail of the original painting.
Images donated by ebay seller denesidekiss and Sytske Wijnsma, edited by Sytske Wijnsma

Marie Wunsch was a nineteenth century Austrian genre painter. Many of her works show children. The Little Secret is another one of her works that has been represented in silk weaving and is said to also show Hans and Gretel.
