FUNDRAISING

OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED!  GOAL: 5000 USD / 6125 CAD AND CURRENTLY AT 80%

To keep our Library up and running, we hold a fundraising campaign from September to December.

This is the link to the donation button: Donate to keep the Antique Pattern Library running!

If you can’t afford to donate, but would like to help the Antique Pattern Library, introducing the Library to people who don’t know of it yet, is very useful, since it broadens our user base and therefore also our future donor base. Blogs, Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest, Ravelry, Facebook, other social media – show others your favorite publications and what you made using them. Our work is only useful when people actually use it!

If that is not possible either, just enjoy our new publications either for inspiration or for your own work!

NEW PUBLICATION

F-JO003 Heinrich Kuehn – Album No. 178
Small album of ten handpainted geometric border and corner designs. Narrow borders, suitable for small objects such as handkerchiefs. Album has a brown cover. The reverse side contains ten standard Heinrich Kuehn alphabets and motifs.
Images donated by ebay seller joan10605. Pattern from her grandmother’s needlework studio in Manhattan, LaMer’s Studio, from 1909-1967, where she taught needlework and did work for musea and famous customers.

This album has seen much use, as the cover was badly damaged. The patterns inside were still in tiptop condition and that’s what matters most 🙂 The designs use a limited number of colors, making them easier to embroider it neatly without a mess of threads at the back. It also makes these patterns suitable for beadwork, although the backstitches will still need to be done in thread.

The Heinrich Kuehn booklet numbers runs into many hundreds, of which we have only a few, so this addition to our collection was most welcome. This is one of the earlier ones where the painting was still done carefully. Later booklets have the paint slapped on in a hurry and even later ones are printed.
