SAJOU BI-COLORED CROSS-STITCH ALBUM 166

FUNDRAISING

OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED!  GOAL: 5000 USD / 6125 CAD AND CURRENTLY AT 95%!

To keep our Library up and running, we hold a fundraising campaign from September to December.

This is the link to the donation button: Donate to keep the Antique Pattern Library running!

If you can’t afford to donate, but would like to help the Antique Pattern Library, introducing the Library to people who don’t know of it yet, is very useful, since it broadens our user base and therefore also our future donor base. Blogs, Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest, Ravelry, Facebook, other social media – show others your favorite publications and what you made using them. Our work is only useful when people actually use it!

If that is not possible either, just enjoy our new publications either for inspiration or for your own work!

NEW PUBLICATION

C-SW003 Maison Sajou – Ouvrages de Dames Album No. 166
Small leporello, 8 pages. Bi-colored cross-stitch patterns. No alphabets in this one – borders, corners, animal motifs, a clown, some motifs suggesting the Far Orient. Sajou published a series of bi-colored booklets that were the subject of a more modern publication. The original booklets are rare.
Donated, charted and edited by Sytske Wijnsma.

While most of the Sajou publications are printed in one color only, there is a small series of their leporellos that have two colors. More expensive to print and ultimately Sajou returned to the monochrome patterns. Those bi-colored cross-stitch leporellos are quite expensive (because rare) and it’s not often that one is offered for sale. We try to get the entire series, but well, budget considerations have forced us to pass up a few. But there’s another alphabet cross-stitch site (patternmakercharts.blogspot.com) that we have agreed to exchange patterns with. Their focus is more on leporellos whereas we take whatever public-domain embroidery patterns we can find, but co-operation will benefit all embroiderers whichever site they prefer as source.
