Crocheted Edgings and Insertions

J-PA054 Louise Nacke – Crocheted Edgings and Insertions Book No. 3
Stapled softcover, 16 pages including covers. On 12 pages 48 crocheted edgings and insertions, photographs only. Most are edges, but in some cases of the wider designs the corner is also shown. No written descriptions or patterns; needleworkers are supposed to figure them out from the photographs. One design (nr. 19) is made with coronation cord, which went out of fashion (and production) before WW2.
From the collection of Iva Rose Reproductions, scanned by Nettie Kraaij, edited by Sytske Wijnsma.

There are only five books from Louise Nacke, and this one was apparently self-published, at least no other publisher name appears anywhere in the book, nor the date. There is an introduction in which it is mentioned that “the Crocheter today prefers copying directly from the pattern to following printed directions” and therefore no directions are given.

We might grumble at the lack of coronation cord, in view of the many beautiful things that could be made with it (ebay and etsy have some nice doilies and childrens caps made with it), but 47 still executable designs should be sufficient – provided of course, that you indeed can copy directly from the pattern.
