FUNDRAISING

OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED!  GOAL: 5000 USD / 6125 CAD AND CURRENTLY AT 86%

To keep our Library up and running, we hold a fundraising campaign from September to December.

This is the link to the donation button: Donate to keep the Antique Pattern Library running!

If you can’t afford to donate, but would like to help the Antique Pattern Library, introducing the Library to people who don’t know of it yet, is very useful, since it broadens our user base and therefore also our future donor base. Blogs, Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest, Ravelry, Facebook, other social media – show others your favorite publications and what you made using them. Our work is only useful when people actually use it!

If that is not possible either, just enjoy our new publications either for inspiration or for your own work!

NEW PUBLICATION

D-SW058 Mary E. Fitch – Yokes & Collars, Crochet and Tatting, Series No. 8
Crocheted and tatted yokes and collars. 24 pages not including covers. Crochet, tatting, filet crochet, lovely designs that make one hope that yokes and collars will come into fashion again.
Scans donated and edited by Sytske Wijnsma.

Long ago, the neckline of clothing was protected by folding a rectangle of white fabric around it, that could be washed separately and replaced when becoming worn. No online ordering of cheap clothes then, clothing was expensive and carefully looked after. Of course in time more and more decorative elements were added to these necklines – who doesn’t know the huge lace collars on Elizabethan paintings? Fortunately the yokes and collars in this book are much simpler and less expensive and let’s face it also much easier to make. Although they are out of fashion nowadays, such a yoke would look lovely on a simple handsewn nightdress, and maybe the collar designs would not be out of place on a basic Tshirt. Let’s bring them back into fashion again!
