The chart looks slightly greener than the original colors. Our charts are mostly using the DMC Stranded Cotton palette, which has the largest number of colors. Alas, the painter of this pattern had even more colors and the grey scale of DMC didn’t fit the pattern colors. So then there is a dilemma: pick the closest colors, or choose a related color scale that better fits with the shades? Generally the chart looks better with a color scale that fits with the shades, and DMC has many many green shades. However, if you like the charted colors better, there’s also the option of blending colors, as most cross-stitches are done with two threads. Further blending might be done by doing the bottom / of the cross-stitch in one color and the \ in a blended color or vice versa. Altogether there are nine possible combinations with only two colors, but very very subtle differences might not be easily visible to the casual observer.
